Spotted in San Diego: Oddball Leaders everywhere
I went to AFP ICON looking for practical takeaways and networking opportunities. I found the whole Oddball Leadership movement instead.
I just came back from four days in San Diego, attending the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) ICON event.
And boy, is my cup full.
Once you hit a certain point in your career, professional conferences like ICON don't have a ton of practical takeaways โ especially since session content is really geared toward early- and mid-career professionals.
So I went to ICON with no particular agenda. A number of my peers were presenting at the conference, and otherwise I had a surprisingly full roster of sessions I wanted to attend.
I was generally open to whatever the conference had in store.
What I did not expect was to spend four days bumping into Oddball Leadership around every corner.
Not the brand, but the principles.
The movement is already moving, people.
Here's what I mean:
If this kind of content resonates with you, I write all about Oddball Leadership every week!
No spam, no corporate jargon. Just real leadership, observed in slightly (or very!) strange ways. ๐๐๐
